Project Update: Early Access V0.2 Devlog #4

If you haven't seen yet on Steam, another update has been released!

☕ Another community driven update has arrived! This one brings a long requested custom character workshop, brand new levels with fresh decor, a trading system to mix things up with familiar NPCs, and a stack of bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

Community Requests:
  • Custom character workshop added: upload and download custom characters directly through Steam Workshop
  • New levels 31–35 added, each with new decor sets
  • Trading system unlocked from Day 9: trade with Leila (from Day 9), Maple (from Day 9), and Marigold (from Day 20) for special items, swap duplicate plushies, upgrade the look of current items, or get a new set of those requested carpets
  • NPCs now arrive in waves, from slower mornings to rush hour to a calmer wind down before closing
  • Latte art is now pickable even with the auto-complete skill unlocked, so you can still choose the design you want to serve for better immersion
  • Revert a sold item button added to the shop
  • Skill point earnings adjusted: once all 50 levels are implemented (currently 35), the full skill tree will be unlockable
  • Cafe closing will now happen when you decide on it, no automatic closure mid coffee making session.


Roadmap Progress:
  • Base trading system added (Collectible items from NPCs)
  • Total decor items expanded to 323 (goal: 500+, 51 new items since last update)
  • Levels expanded from 30 to 35 (goal: 50)
  • NEW: Custom character workshop


Fixes:
  • Fixed chairs being uneditable on the terrace during bad weather regardless of whether the café was open or closed
  • Adjusted NPC sitting animation delay
  • Fixed creatures getting stuck on the table after finishing their coffee
  • Twitch authentication panel now displays correctly
  • Miscellaneous minor bug and UI fixes

Project Update: Early Access V0.1 Devlog #3

 ☕ A larger update this week focused on community requested features, additional content, and several quality of life improvements has been released!

Tailside: Cozy Cafe Sim now ontroller support has now been officially added for Xbox controllers, and a number of requested gameplay changes have been implemented to make progression smoother and customization more flexible. The café also welcomes a few new surprises, including a brand new creature and a community inspired event.

Community Requests:

  • Official Xbox controller support added
  • Added upgrade allowing NPCs to leave empty cups
  • New long boi creature added at level 28
  • Coffee recipe skills now cost 3 skill points instead of 5
  • Shelves available as wall decor in normal game mode
  • Sandbox expanded: bedroom now fully decoratable
  • Player movement now supports arrow keys
  • Fallen Star event added from Day 48 with new decor collectables
  • Tips timer increased 30 -> 60 seconds
  • Daily coffee goals slightly reduced
  • Added ability to sell plushies
  • NPC voices now trigger when interacting in the café
  • Duplicate plushies no longer black out already collected ones
  • Added plushie pity system to improve chances of unique pulls

Roadmap Progress:
  • Base weather changing system added
  • Total decor items expanded to 274 (goal: 500+)

Fixes:
  • Keybind rebinding now works with keyboard and controllers
  • Intro achievements and several others should now register properly
  • Fixed pastries reappearing after saving/loading
  • Added fast cancel for controller rebinding to prevent getting stuck
  • Max level reached now displays correctly
  • Miscellaneous UI fixes and adjustments
  • Added tab indicators in shop, journal, settings, and helpbook
  • Additional fixes for interact button stopping unexpectedly
  • Removed non existent “exit” mouse instruction in build mode
  • Plushie panel now shows total collected amount
  • End of day values now save and load correctly

Known Issues in Progress
The following issues are still being worked on and may require additional testing:
  • Twitch integration: another few edits and fixes has been added, however we will still need to monitor the situation and if the connection issues still occur.

Project Update: Save the date and let’s celebrate together! <3

I can’t believe I get to write this, but the launch of Tailside: Cozy Cafe Sim is almost here

After two years of development, the game is finally launching on January 21st for $9.99, and I’d love for you to be part of that moment. This community really feels like a little family, and celebrating together means a lot to me.

The game will continue growing after launch, with future features already planned and tracked on the Steam page. But first, let’s focus on launch day and make it special

Reviews:
Our goal is 100 reviews in the first 24 hours. Early reviews help decide whether the game gets buried or boosted, and they make a huge difference in helping it reach new players.

Project Update: Tailside: Beta V 0.4 Patch Notes (DLCs now available!)

Notes: This update adds new decor, upgrades, quality of life improvements, several saving system adjustments, gameplay adjustments, new cutscenes and small world interactions and a variety of bug fixes. Fundraiser backers can now claim their Soundtrack and Woodland DLCs.

Beta 0.4 patch release:
December 23rd, 2025

NEW:
  • 50 new decor items have been added, which unlock through day progression instead of leveling up.
  • Some newspaper days now include gift packages for collection.
  • New shop upgrades: current item orders now have a limit, which can be increased via upgrades.
  • Quality of life function: collect all received item orders at once.
  • Added UI sounds for the plushie machine.
  • Terrace will now feature creatures during open cafe hours from a certain day onward.
  • Added cutscenes for all days when small things happen in the cafe world.
  • Completed small world details and interactions throughout all newspaper articles.
  • Starting screen now displays random coffee facts.
  • Discover rock paintings scattered throughout the days. What happens if you clean them out?

Gameplay Adjustments & Tweaks:
  • Leila is now closed on weekends for selling pastries.
  • Added saving system adjustments to prevent game resets during updates.
  • Added separate saving for multiple Steam accounts on the same computer, so if you and your sibling want to play on their own accounts - now you can without deleting each others save slots “by accident”.
  • Added mention of minutes in settings when changing day length.
  • Main music volume in settings now adjusts live without needing to unpause.
  • Adjusted some UI sizes for better visibility.

Fixes:
  • Fixed end of day creatures not having animations.
  • Fixed day one task trigger after cafe closure, blocking the gameplay further.
  • Fixed coffee bean grinder upgrade not applying when fully upgraded
  • Fixed being able to place items under the helpbook on the cafe counter.
  • Tons of other various bug squishing and refiniment.

Fundraiser related:
  • Fundraiser backers can now claim their Soundtrack and Woodland DLCs: How to find my digital downloads
  • After claiming your keys on Steam, you will be able to see a DLC section in-game in the settings.
