Project Update: Announcing our Next Public Playtest: Despair Dilemma

Hey everyone!

It's Nora again, and I'm glad to say we have some exciting news! For those who aren't aware, Perfect Draw! started with a public playtest. It's because of this playtest period that we were able to refine the mechanics of the game to what they are today - and in my mind I don't think the game would have been nearly as good without it.

We've been working on a number of projects behind the scenes as work on Perfect Draw! slowed down and moved into the hands of our publishing partner. I'm glad to say that as of today, we're able to open one of these projects to public playtest!

Introducing Despair Dilemma

Despair Dilemma is a TTRPG designed to replicate the Death Game genre you might be familiar with from Danganronpa, Squid Game, and Battle Royale. In these stories, people are forced into life-or-death situations and must fight, scavenge, or argue for the sake of their victory and survival.

This has been a famously difficult genre to represent in a TTRPG, but we've decided to give the game a unique mechanical spin by allowing players to control not only create the characters involved in the Death Game, but also the Narrative Forces that push the game toward its conclusion.

You can learn more about the game and read our first public playtest document by clicking the image above or clicking the link here: https://noorasphere.itch.io/despair-dilemma-playtest

Printing Update for Perfect Draw!

The printing process is going fantastically and with any luck we'll have a shipping estimate available for you all by the next update. Since we last time we gave a printing update we've:
  • Gotten the first test prints made.
  • Finalized the cover assets for the final print size.
  • Updated a significant number of graphics for visibility in the final print version.
I'm also glad to say that after talking with the printing team, we were able to organise head/tail bands to be added to each of the hardcover copies of Perfect Draw!. This addition makes the book a little more tough and lasts a lot longer then it may have without it.

We're really excited to get physical books in your hands as soon as possible - thank you all so much for your patience.

Thank you all so much and I hope to see your thoughts on Despair Dilemma soon!
