Project Update: Deep Cuts POD codes paused
Hey friends,
Just before last week's holiday we found out there was a significant cosmetic error with Print-On-Demand copies of Deep Cuts. The cover logo displays as a white box rather than the image of the title and forge it should show.
(Short explanation: The PDF used for POD printing didn't have the transparency layer properly configured and it slipped through our proofing process.)
We corrected the cover files and uploaded them to DriveThruRPG this morning.
We've requested another round of proofs, which should take about 3-4 weeks. (That's just how long it takes to print and ship a physical proof to us for review, we don't have any special expediting options on that process.)
Once the new proofs are approved, we’ll issue a fresh set of at-cost coupon codes for the Deep Cuts POD.
In the meantime, we’ve canceled the existing POD codes for Deep Cuts.
We're very sorry for the oversight here, and want to apologize to all of you for the interruption. We're changing our proofing workflow going forward so it's far less likely this situation will happen again.
If anyone received a defective copy, sit tight! We are still actively talking with DriveThruRPG about the problem, but our intention is to make sure everyone who ordered a POD copy will get it refunded entirely (including the shipping cost). As covered above, we'll then be in a multi-week process of trying to make sure the POD is correctly configured, at which point we can issue the codes again and folks can place their orders again for a nondefective copy.
We'll post another update and send out an email blast to everyone when we're ready to send out the new codes. Appreciate your patience on this one.
