We're down to less than a week to go! Ending Wednesday evening the 12th at 11pm US eastern time. If you're on the fence, consider backing now to help us hit the upcoming no-extra-cost stretch goals!
For fun (and to promote this project) we made a FREE web app hex map tool. It works best on desktops/laptops for now. We've posted about it before, but it has gotten a few updates including one today! Go to the website: https://inkwellideas.com/roleplaying_tools/HexLands/ to try it out! It will randomly create a hex map region. Use buttons below it to add coasts, rivers, and towers/towns/etc. Now there is also a "wave" button that will auto-place coasts.
And as of this post we're just about to hit our "convert our stickers to vinyl clings goal"!Next up is to add some more clings to include coasts & rivers there. (The free HexLands tool will give you a good idea of how they will work.) I am getting more samples of clings tomorrow--this time they will be 'kiss-cut' so you can pull them off the sheet individually.
And we want to poll you one more time for our next stretch goal. See the latest poll here. One of the options is new--it is an expansion of one of the cards in the sample deck that describes a process to quickly make a list of dynamic encounters: list several foes, what they are doing & a complication/need for each. Then roll or pick either one 'line' the foe, activity, and need that you listed. Or to make things more dynamic, pick a different activity & need from the ones you brainstormed for a given foe.
We'll create these lists for many different biomes/terrain/environments. Here are two examples:
Random encounter tables for a tropical forest. Roll/pick one line or from different lines. (Proof of concept: Not yet edited.)
Random encounter tables for the Feywild. Roll/pick one line or from different lines. (Proof of concept: Not yet edited.)
(Note that we're experimenting with 'on-purpose' typos to encourage you to think of your creatures as different from the normal kobolds, goblins, etc.)
And this deck will have cards that are lists of strange things in each biome/terrain/environment. Here are a few for a tropical forest:
Boiling River
Strange Geoglyphs (large pictograms seen from above)
Translucent Skinned Animal
Cenote
Walking Tree (just odd, not sentient like a Treant)
So please vote for what you'd like us to add as that later stretch goal. And if you can share the project with others, please do! Sharing helps you to get these bonus items/upgrades at no extra cost to you!
