Project Update: Update + Surveys coming next week! 🇲🇽💖
Hola amigos!
I wanted to share a long and overdue update on Muerte & Magic II. I’m really sorry this campaign has been quiet on my end, there's been a lot happening in the background and I want to be transparent about the delay if you haven't followed my other campaign updates.
Long story short: the delay came from running 3 campaigns (Pin Quest, Pinned & Preserved, and Muerte & Magic) back-to-back with very little downtime in between campaigns. On top of overlapping campaigns, I was also dealing with several unexpected family emergencies that made it difficult for me to keep everything moving on the original timeline I had planned out.

➡️ Back to back campaigns:
While running Pin Quest, I was asked to join the upcoming League of Science pin event about a month before launch. I happily agreed, but I didn't fully anticipate how tight the schedule would be in between setting up & running multiple back-to-back campaigns. I originally planned to have more time between Pin Quest and Muerte & Magic to clean up/vectorize artwork, but with the added 2nd insect pin campaign in between, I had to put a pause on certain tasks in order to run these events on time.
➡️ Family emergencies:
While running the campaigns, my mom was hospitalized due to a severe spider bite infection that required multiple surgeries to clear out of her system. Thankfully she made a full recovery 🥹🙏🏼 Shortly after this, there was a cancer scare that required more testing back at the hospital, but thankfully that all came back negative. After this happened, my closest grandma passed away which was a very difficult loss to deal with on top of everything.
Once things settled down, I jumped immediately back into my work. Balancing campaign work in between these 2 family emergencies caused some delays getting things started, and I ended up slower to check in than I wanted to be. For that I sincerely apologize 🙏🏼 I just want to be transparent about everything going on behind the scenes so you can understand, and I want to thank you all so much for your patience during this time. I also hope you all are taking care of yourselves too, I know life can be rough to everyone sometimes 💖
💪🏼 The great news is that I'm just about caught up with all the campaign work, and the Muerte & Magic surveys are almost ready for me to submit to Backerkit for review!
After the Backerkit Team returns to the office on Tuesday (Monday is MLK Jr. Day holiday), I'm hoping surveys will be approved shortly after that. Once I get final counts from the Muerte & Magic surveys over to my manufacturer, production will be ready to start ^_^

➡️ Since there was a lot going on, I had to put a pause on finishing these two last designs. Luckily I'm almost finished and I'll reveal their final designs once the surveys have been released! :)
I've already cleared out my schedule for the rest of this month so I can focus fully on finalizing pin production. After these survey counts are done, everything will go smoothly and consistently from here on out! 🤗 Thank you so much for your incredible patience, understanding and support during this time. It really means the world to me and I am so grateful to have you all here 💖💖💖
