Project Update: Production Estimates + Acrylic Charm Effect Change

Hello backers,

A fairly quick update again!

Pin Production

As stated in the last update, pin production is underway. My manufacturer has estimated 18-22 days for production, but stated that designs requiring another sample + photos (such as the 3" deer pin) will need an additional 12-15 days to produce.

So we're looking at a bit over a month (at least) until the bulk order is ready to be shipped to me. I'll share any updates as usual, but I think things will be fairly quiet in the coming weeks.

There are still 39 folks who haven't filled out surveys, so please do that as soon as you can!

Large Acrylic Charms

Finally some acrylic charm news! In short: I will be using an iridescent holographic effect instead of star holo.

Frankly, I think these charms are too large and detailed for the star holo to work well. While the star effect is pretty in direct sunlight, it's quite busy, and in indirect light, the artwork becomes faded and almost entirely covered by the stars.

The star holo especially covers the Curator design

The deer design is washed out under the star holo

However, I sampled one other holographic effect: an all-over iridescence. This effect looks great! It's a shimmery rainbow in both direct and indirect light, but the artwork isn't nearly as washed out under indirect lighting. The effect is a bit more subdued overall and compliments the artwork quite well.

In indirect sunlight—a more subdued gradient effect.

Apologies for the late change to the large charms. While I have made charms in the past, I've never tried holographic effects, so this was a bit of a learning experience for me. I think the iridescent holo is a great solution that works better with these detailed designs, and I hope the charm enjoyers think so too! I'll be updating the description and adding photos to the survey for extra clarity.

The plain clear 2" acrylic charms will remain the same, only the two 3.5" charms will have the new effect.

Thanks for your patience and support as usual. Until next time!
