Project Update: Delays Incoming | Many Pins Need Remakes
Hi backers,
As the title says, there will be a delay in fulfillment.
I received a lot of B-grades for pretty much every pin design. Things looked OK as of the last update—the B-grades/flawed pins were on the higher side, but seemed manageable. After seeing all the pins, that's no longer the case.
The number of flaws seem hover around 25% for a couple designs (like the Looking Glass and Statue), 30% for the Beetle and Moth, 50% for others (like the Family Portrait), while a few other designs (like the Skull and Cosmic Eye) are 60%+ flawed. The Curator and Deer designs appear to be over 80% flawed pins.
I ordered 75-100 extra pins of every design (depending on popularity) and I only have enough acceptable pins to fulfill maybe 3-4 designs. Lesson learned to order a higher qty in the future, but at the same time... this number of B-Grades seems pretty abnormal 😶
I contacted my manufacturer rep last week to let her know there were lots of flaws and I'd be seeking remakes. She asked for photos of the defects and I'm just wrapping up organizing and marking up photos to send her. I'll let you know her response and what the timeline looks like on remakes!
I am tentatively hoping fulfillment will commence in early October.

I understand flaws happen and there is no truly "flawless" pin! Standard/A-Grade pins may small flaws. However, I think what I'm seeing is pretty out of the ordinary and definitely B-Grades... I think it's clear my order was rushed, as the samples I received are so much nicer. 😭
Anyway, I'll update again soon after I get the ball rolling a bit more on remakes. Thank you again for all your patience and my apologies that there will be delays! It's frustrating and a bit discouraging to be writing this instead of announcing that fulfillment was underway.
