I have an exciting update on the timeline for fulfillment today, as well as some updated dice sample photos. I also have an important reminder for the 1% of backers who haven't yet filled out their surveys, and the 2% of backers who have errored cards for shipping charges.
I mentioned in the last update that the dice manufacturing was introducing delays, and I've finally approved a set of samples for production. Aside from the d4 (which will have the dark blue moved to the bottom face of the die) and the font (which should be closer to the font on the last sample I shared images of) in the picture below, this is the final look for the dice set!
The updated insert in these samples finally truly captures the essence of the mockup, and looks amazing from all angles. D4 will have the blue on the bottom face in the final version, and the font will be more in line with the font on the original samples
I'm also happy to report that I used this sample set in my home game last week, and it is one of the easiest to read sets that I own.
Physical Fulfillment Timelines
Printing is done! Normally, the dice production delays would mean that the books and cards would be sitting around for about a month while we wait for the dice to finish getting made, but I've spoken with my contact for freight logistics, and determined that it won't be outrageously expensive to send the books and cards ahead by ocean (which takes about a month, plus a week or two in customs) and then send the dice later by air. This does cost me more, but for the sake of 1) getting copies out to backers sooner, and 2) enabling me to bring copies to Origins in June I think it will be worth it.
With the difference in shipping times between ocean and air, everything should be arriving at the US warehouse between May 19th and 27th. This means the current expectation is that US-based fulfillment will begin at the end of May.
For backers in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, fulfillment timelines are a bit longer. From the US warehouse, product needs to be sent to the UK and Australia fulfillment centers first before fulfillment can begin. In order to reduce shipping costs, these pledge rewards will be sent along with product bound for distribution in those regions, which means that they may take another couple of months depending on when distribution orders are completed.
Locking Addresses Soon
With the beginning of physical fulfillment coming up soon, I plan to lock down addresses starting next week. You'll get a notice 48 hours before that happens reminding you to update your address as needed, so make sure you double check that! I'd hate for anyone's package to get delivered to the wrong place.
Important Reminder
As a reminder, backers that don't fill out their surveys or pay for shipping within a month of fulfillment beginning may not receive their packages. I will always do my best to make sure everyone gets what they pledge for, but I can't send you a package if I don't know where it needs to go and don't have funds to ship it out! If your card wasn't able to be charged, in most cases it's a result of the bank blocking the payment and you will need to call them to ask them to allow the payment to go through.
