Lastly, we have 7 days left for our current Backerkit campaign, Faerie Emporium: Magical Spellbooks & Potions, for Pintopia 2026! Our campaign ends Feb 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM EST. We are fully funded with all pin designs and campaign items unlocked. We also have several freebies and a Backerkit exclusive pin in the collection.
We just wanted to share a progress update on the pins from our manufacturer. We received sample photos of the Mini Void Cat Pin, the Climbing Void Cat Pin, and the Haunted Mansion Pin. We think they turned out great, and they have been approved for mass production!
Our manufacturer also shared a photo of the glow-in-the-dark effect of the Haunted Mansion Pin. For the glow-in-the-dark effects to work, the pin must be exposed to UV light (such as sunlight) to activate. Here are the photos!

Our manufacturer will be away on holiday for the Chinese Lunar New Year (February 11 - 23). The pins will most likely be completed sometime in late February/early March. We expect the pins to be shipped to us by late March/ early April.

I hope you all had a wonderful winter holiday! Can't believe we are already in 2026! We just wanted to give a quick update on the production progress of the pins.
🎨 Production Update 🎨
After a few back-and-forth sessions with our manufacturer, we have finalized the Pantone colours and artwork for all the pins. The mini filler pins are currently in mass production, and our manufacturer is working on samples for the medium and large pins. Hopefully, we can share some sample photos soon!
We estimate that our pins will be finished in production after the Chinese Lunar New Year Holiday (February 11 - 23). Hopefully, the pins will ship to us by mid-March, and we can fulfill orders by the end of March/early April.

🇺🇸 US Shipping Update 🇺🇸
We have decided to use a 3PL (third-party logistics) company within the US for US orders. We will be sending our products to the 3PL company in the US, and the 3PL company will fulfill orders on our behalf within the US. We received initial estimates for US shipping costs from the 3PL company, but the final shipping costs are dependent on the tariff situation at the time of shipment.
Once the pins arrive in Canada and we finalize contract details with the 3PL service, we will have a more accurate estimate for shipping fees. At that time, if US shipping costs less than what we charged during this campaign, we will refund US backers the difference. We will provide more updates about the shipping situation closer to the shipment date.

In other news, we will also be launching a new campaign soon for Pintopia 2026 on January 22, 2026, at 10 AM PST! This will be our 8th crowdfunding campaign. Here is a sneak preview of our project. 🚨Cards Charged For Shipping Fees, Taxes, and Survey Add-Ons🚨
Cards were charged yesterday for shipping fees, taxes (applicable only in Canada), and survey add-ons. We did not collect shipping fees and taxes during the campaign. We apologize that it took longer than expected to charge cards (the original charge date was Dec 12). We wanted to ensure that all backers received the correct freebies before charging cards, so it took longer than anticipated to review everyone's surveys before charging cards.
We had a few backers reach out for some clarification on how payments are handled with Backerkit. Here is a payment breakdown:
1st Charge (Backerkit Crowdfunding Campaign):
Date: Nov 1st, 2025
Includes: Pledge level charge & add-ons selected during campaign
Appears as "BACKERKIT.COM SPOOKY CRITTERS..." on your credit card statement
2nd Charge (Backerkit Pledge Manager):

Even though the second charge was processed through Backerkit's pledge manager, the charge will appear as "MOCHIVILLE" on your credit card statement. I, unfortunately, do not have control over how the name appears on charges. I apologize for any confusion. Please be assured that the second charge was processed through Backerkit, and we did not charge this separately as an extra hidden charge.

🇺🇸 US Shipping Clarification 🇺🇸
We received several messages expressing concerns about US shipping. Our pins are manufactured in China and will be shipped from Canada. Since our pins are classified as foreign commercial goods, they will be subject to tariffs and duties upon entering the US.
US shipping for this campaign is $25 CAD (about $18.15 USD) and $35 CAD (about $25.41 USD) for the Deluxe collection. These shipping fees cover DDP (Delivery Duties Paid) postage. DDP postage includes duty fees, tariffs, and taxes with the shipping fee. Since these fees are prepaid, your packages will have the best chance of passing through US customs with minimal issues, and there won't be any surprise fees upon delivery through the shipping carrier.
We have tried different shipping methods, but we have experienced our packages being stuck in customs for several weeks or being rejected and returned to Canada. DDP postage is the only viable option for shipping packages from Canada to the US at this time.
We understand that $25 CAD ($18.15 USD) shipping is still expensive. If we find cheaper shipping options closer to fulfillment, we will refund the difference for US shipping.
