Project Update: July Development Update

Hello Marmateers!

We are making great progress on Midnight Muscadines, and I wanted to provide an update on where we are at as we approach the end of July.

Development Update

  • The game's writing is now complete! This means we have entered the polishing phase. 
  • All told, the game sits at 91,471 words, with most of those words in the Setting Guide, Adventures, Ingredients, and Bestiary chapters.
  • The game's PDF and cards were sent off for review and editing and will take about 3 weeks. After that, I will go through all the edits and implement them into the main document.
  • Artwork continues to stream in! I have sent our artist a big punch list of art descriptions to fill in all the placeholders within the layout, and he is cranking through them.
  • While art is made and text is edited, I am turning my focus to the solo journal design and pre-gen characters next.

Backer Early Release PDF

After the next round of edits and fixes are complete, my plan is to release the latest PDF to backers so you all have time to provide your thoughts, questions, and feedback before we go to print. This will be the last big chance to get many fresh sets of eyes on the text before we impress it onto paper.

I don't have a solid release date right now, but we will be sending out another update and a form to submit your thoughts and feedback once that's ready.

If you want to get your hands on the Backer Early Release PDF, but didn't back during the campaign, the preorder store is still open! You just need to get your order in before the release occurs.

More Community Events Coming

In May, we hosted several great character creation workshops in our Discord. Once the latest PDF has gone through edits, we plan to run more events, so keep an eye out here and in our Discord for those! 

We chose to pause events as your contributions had unlocked new guilds, playable folk, tweaked mechanics, built out a huge setting guide, and more. We wanted to wait until all those features were available to players so they could get the full experience. That time is coming up fast!
