🎯 What we’ve been doing so far
Finalizing all files, Pantones and product specs with our manufacturers.
Prepping production queues to launch as soon as surveys are locked.
Testing packaging solutions and customs classifications (we had to re-learn a LOT recently 😮💨).
Some items will go into production sooner than others (stickers vs pins) — so don’t worry if you see partial previews or staggered progress, it’s all part of the process! 💪

📬 A note for U.S. backers – new shipping tariffs
Due to new U.S. customs regulations introduced in 2025, all packages sent from outside the U.S. must now be Delivered Duties Paid (DDP).
This means that an additional charge will apply for U.S. shipping, even if you’ve already paid for shipping on BackerKit — we’ll collect these new fees separately before fulfillment. It’s a necessary step — otherwise, we won’t be able to ship your package at all 🥺
We know this isn’t ideal, and we truly wish we didn’t have to ask for this extra payment —
but all the couriers have completely removed the standard shipping method to the U.S. that we (and most small creators) have always used.
The only way to ship now is through DDP (Delivered Duties Paid), which requires all import fees and duties to be paid in advance, on our side.
It took weeks of effort, paperwork, and waiting… but we got our DDP contract approved — and we’re so relieved, because it means we can finally start shipping to the U.S. again! 💪
💌 The good news? Once these tariffs are paid, your package will be already customs-cleared, and travel faster, smoother, with no surprise charges at delivery.

We know it can feel like everything moves slowly — but, as we always like to remind, please know: this is the reality of being a tiny teeny indie team. It’s really just the two of us, doing everything from design to production to fulfillment (with no helpers at all 💔).
We need time to do things properly — not only for this campaign, but to make sure that everything we do and also all our past projects are fulfilled too, so we can finally get to regular shop updates, income, and new creations. 🤞
We never stop working on these projects, even when updates are sparse. We’re just… imperfect. We stumble, we get overwhelmed — but we never stop trying. 🪴

Project Update: 📝 Surveys Are Finally Out – Check Your Inbox! 📬🚨
🌿 Quick Update
YAAAAAYYYYY!!! We finally got approved for the new DDP shipping method by our courier!!! 🥹✨
We’re now in the process of activating it on our shipping platform (a few technical things to set up on our end) —
and we'll be able to finally ship to the USA again!!! 🎉🇺🇸
But what matters the most for this campaign is:

We updated the shipping rates accordingly to the new DDP costs — and luckily, there were only minor changes, so we were able to keep them pretty fair and good 💪
We already sent out the Smoke Test, and since we haven’t received any negative feedback so far, it looks like everything is working well! ✨
➡️So now we’re sending out the rest of the surveys to everyone else!

Project Update: 🌱 Update on Surveys + What’s Been Going On Behind the Scenes
Hey everyone!
We know you’ve been wondering what’s going on with the surveys and we’re here to explain everything.

As we previously mentioned, the surveys were actually ready before the campaign even ended and were under review from the Backerkit team. We were finally back on track —more than we had ever been before!! Everything was moving forward smoothly again, after all the storms and pain we had been through.
But then… the new Trump Tariffs hit —and hit hard. 🥲💥

We were suddenly faced with a massive, unexpected shipping crisis that affected all of our open campaigns, (including Botanicows —even though its pins hadn’t gone into production yet) and not only.
We had to immediately shift our focus to fully understanding:

- what the new US regulations were,
- if they were temporary or not,
- how they’d affect each campaign’s fulfillment,
- and what shipping options were even available anymore at that point
We contacted different couriers, tried to negotiate with fulfillment centers, and even spoke with other EU-based creators... but sadly, no one was able to ship to the US anymore using the regular postal DDU method.
It was —and still is— completely disabled. 😰
All of this research, planning, and problem-solving took a massive amount of time, energy, and emotional bandwidth.
On top of that, our own courier requires a minimum batch of parcels to trigger a pickup, so even the remaining EU rewards/orders couldn’t ship out during that time.
And we were simply too drained by the priority crisis of finding a solution for the USA to tackle anything else.
We also had to close both our stores to the US, and put our entire Pin Club on an indefinite (at that time) hold, which was devastating —both financially and emotionally.
💌 So why no surveys yet?
Because... we couldn’t send them out without first knowing how to actually ship the rewards —or what the final shipping prices would even be!
Once surveys are sent, you can’t edit the shipping costs anymore.
And so we had to wait. 😔
Of course, we do regret not letting you know all this earlier —even a quick heads-up would have been better than silence. But we were honestly out of energy, juggling too many things, and doing our best to keep our heads above water.
We’re truly sorry for the lack of communication.
Once surveys are sent, you can’t edit the shipping costs anymore.
And so we had to wait. 😔
Of course, we do regret not letting you know all this earlier —even a quick heads-up would have been better than silence. But we were honestly out of energy, juggling too many things, and doing our best to keep our heads above water.
We’re truly sorry for the lack of communication.
✅ Good News: A solution has been found!!
We’re happy to say that we’ve finally signed a new shipping agreement for DDP method with our courier —and now we’re just waiting for them to activate it.
This means that: as soon as that happens, we’ll be able to ship to the US again, with more sustainable taxes and even no surprise fees for backers! 🙌
>So yes: if we receive the final confirmation from our courier to know if we’re fully approved and eligible to proceed (It should just be a formality —everything’s basically 90% done already! 🤞) Surveys will be coming very soon!!
Once we get that approval, we’ll just need some little extra time to adjust the shipping rates in the surveys -if needed —and finally be able to send them out to you!!! 🎉
This means that: as soon as that happens, we’ll be able to ship to the US again, with more sustainable taxes and even no surprise fees for backers! 🙌

- 🇺🇸 Shipping to the US for our other projects and shops will resume once the new DDP method is fully active —we’re just waiting for final confirmation.
- ✍️ The production of Botanicows pins will start shortly after surveys are collected, once we know your choices.
- 🧠 We know delays are frustrating, and we’re doing our best to keep up. Please bear with us as we move at a pace we can realistically sustain as real, tired humans 🥹

🛠 Behind the Scenes: Pledge Manager Already in the Works!
This time, we managed to get extra prepared — so we’ve actually been working on the Pledge Manager/Backer Surveys during the campaign as soon as the possibility to do so opened up! And it’s already almost ready.
Once the campaign ends and BackerKit does their official review confirming our surveys, we’ll just need to add a few finishing touches and wait the mandatory 14 business days wait for funds to arrive to us — and then it’ll be ready for you to complete your pledge: choosing your rewards, and add post-campaign anything you might have missed during the live period! 🌸

We’ll allow a bit of time for most backers to complete their surveys, and in the meantime we’ll get to work on the final vector files for each design — ready to hand over to our manufacturers for both pins and stickers.
