Sorry about the tardiness of this January update, I meant to send it before I headed off to Aggie Con. So we'll be getting two this month, the second one coming near the end of the month. So where are we at with the module? We are still on track for a summer delivery.
One very exciting update is that Andy Edmonds, also known as Nerdronomicon, will be joining the project to provide some additional art for the module, making it absolutely packed with real art by real artists! You can see examples of Andy's work in his recent zine The Sorcerer's Return and on his website: https://nerdronomicon.com/. I've very excited to have him providing more awesome art and will share some sneak peaks in future updates.
When I began layout and looked at where the art would fit best, it immediately made me want to retreat a little bit and get some more awesome pieces of art in there. I also started rewriting a couple sections that seemed a little unnecessarily verbose. I guess Julian isn't the only sesquipedalian around here.
I've also contracted an amazing cartographer names Adam Akana, aka Tymortis. Adam is just breaking into the industry and his skill is undeniable! Check out these sick previews of the player map he is working on
Will you solve this cipher wheel before being consumed by the dragons poisonous breath?
What horrors await under these ominous grates?
Beware! The most beautiful flowers hide the deepest cuts.
Is it a spider? Is it a pig? Both, it's a porcanea!
Be sure to leave a comment and let Adam know how awesome his art is. And yes, I said player map! Adam is creating a player facing version of the map without all the secrets and traps that will be visible on the Judge's map.
That's all for now, more to come soon.
Be sure to check out The Conquest of Chaos, live on BackerKit right now! This compilation of modules written by my Rules As Written co-host, Stefan Surratt, features GIANTS of all kinds and will take PCs from 0 to 5th level in an entire campaigns worth of material!
And coming soon from the father-daughter creative team of Charles Roysten and his daughter Izzy, a 0-level funnel for all those characters who perish in the meat grinder. Sign up to be notified when The Cult That Never Was goes live!
