Project Update: Book development update—including sample spreads
Dear backers, happy spring! Thank you for your patience as we move ahead with bringing the Nostalgitron to life. TL;DR: we’re on track to send out PDFs this summer. At the same time, we’re finalizing our physical production plans, having looked into a few options due to tariffs.
Layout and art
Michael has laid out the book and illustrated the vast majority of it. We’ve added a couple of paragraphs and callouts, here and there, but mostly we’re sticking to the manuscript we wrote over the winter. Overall, it’s looking amazing! Here are a few sample spreads to show off the look and feel. Drumroll…
Printing and manufacturing
You can write this part yourself: the tariffs… worked perfectly, incentivizing U.S. manufacturing companies to reshore with the quickness and lowering prices for all. <Stares at camera, unsmiling.>
In all seriousness, since the tariff landscape keeps changing, we are actively researching our options. There are a few. We will get the books produced no matter what. Once we have a solid timeline, we'll share more.

Surveys
We’re setting up BackerKit Pledge Manager to send our surveys soon, mainly to confirm your name for the credits + your email address for the PDFs.
Shipping will happen later, and we’ll send a follow-up to confirm your address then.
Shout-out: Lazlo’s Cubed Crypt!
There are only a few hours left to back this extremely cool physical project made by some folks we know. Go check it out!
Lazlo's Cubed Crypt is a level-12 adventure for Dungeons & Dragons 5e accompanied by a physical Puzzle Cube map. With a map provided by professional cartographer Dyson Logos, Lazlo’s Cubed Crypt features a Puzzle Cube map. Choose whether you require your players to solve the cube as part of the adventure or give it to them in the solved state as they navigate through the dungeon.
For real, check out the puzzle cube!

Livedrawing streams
As Michael builds out the book, we’ve started hosting livedrawing streams with him over on our Twitch channel so we can chat with each other and anyone who’s interested in art, design, and publishing. We’ve held two so far and will almost certainly hold at least one more. Please comment on this post and let us know what you think!
In addition, we’ve published a few different episodes of our game-design podcast, Why We Roll, in conversation with Michael as well as our BackerKit Collab partner, Marco Serrano of Spicy Tuna RPG. If you missed these during the campaign, check them out now! The conversations were really fun, and they span a wide range of topics when it comes to indie publishing, art-making, genre fiction, and more.
