We are now on day 5 of Pocketopia and it has been a whirlwind so far! We are over 200% funded, and only Β£500 away from hitting that third stretchgoal. We're gonna jump straight in with a small announcement...
Live Stream at 7.30pm GMT with Nat Mesnard from Scryptid games, our Pocketopia partners!
This stream will be a duet interview where Laurie will ask Nat questions about their design choices for Assemblage, and then they'll be switching roles! If you have any questions for either designer, this live stream would be a great time to ask them! We'll also be using this stream to congratulate Scryptid on hitting their funding goal for Assemblage today! π That means any of our backers who have pledged for both games will be receiving our special cross-collaboration reward 'Collective Action'
Two stretch goals down, six to go!
We've bulldozed through those first two stretch goals, and we're already half way to hitting that third! As promised, here's a teaser for what Tanya has planned for their one-shot Adventure...
"The Battle of the Broken Pane:
Deep within Guiding Hand territory, The House of Glass is under attack! Your occupation must face down batons, dogs, gas, drones, and worse. The decisions you make force past and present to collide in a single day. Within the 24 hours of an attempted eviction, class spontaneity will be anything but spontaneous!"
I can tell you now with insider knowledge that this one-shot will have you making careful decisions as the clock ticks down... π°οΈ Once we hit that 7k mark, we'll be sharing the teaser for Benjamin's one-shot, which takes a very different approach.
Another year, another Airecon
Over the weekend, Laurie and Rob commandeered a demo table in Harrogate's convention centre, where they ran back-to-back demos for all the Eco-punks brave enough to sit at the round table! If you were one of them, thanks for joining us! β

Before we head off and prep for tonight's livestream, I wanted to share a few quotes we've received over the weekend from folks who have read through Why We Fight!
The first is from Jessica Hancock who hosts the Not DnD podcast:
βWhy We Fight is the story we need for the time we live in. TTRPGs can be an excellent escape in difficult times, but Why We Fight doesnβt shy away from current day issues. The game focuses on resisting those who would oppress us, whilst prioritising our communities and the world they live in. The mechanics are simple enough to pickup, but have enough depth to make gameplay interesting and have meaningful choices."
We also approached Binary, from Binary Star Games, who says:
"A premise of community rebellion against collapse-driven fascism, thoughtfully composed GMless-first procedures, familiar mechanics that differ in very well considered and effectual ways...what more could you ask for?"
Gosh we are completely blown away by the response we've had to Why We Fight, between hearing from folks in the TTRPG scene, our wonderful backers, and the people who stopped for demo's at Airecon this weekend, we are BUZZING with excitement! Thankyou so much for helping bring our dream to life, as a small indie team we can't even begin to express how much this means to us.
We hope to catch you on the livestream, but if not, we'll see you in the next update when we hit 7k!
