Project Update: You did it!

We can’t thank you enough for the phenomenal support you all gave to our project and the rest of Mothership Month projects! And what a backer train! Seeing our funding hit 495% of our goal is quite something—we’re able to bring you the best version of Devil’s Due with all of our stretch goals hit and then some.

More than 70 folks pledged during the overtime on the backer train, helping Mothership Month raise over $1,000,000 over all projects! At full count, 701 hardcover books pledges have been made!

Our Pledge Manager will open soon. All of our backers will be able to see their pledges, and anyone who pledged the “Get it Later” tier can choose to upgrade their pledge then. Expect another project update letting you know when this opens up. We’re considering making the unlocked second patch and temporary tattoos available to buy separately if you want more of them.

We have a few different parts of the project moving at the same time. Here’s a quick summary of where we’re at and what’s planned next. Over the next few months, expect regular updates!

Illustrations: Most are complete, but we’re planning for the rest to wrap up across January. We’ll also get started on the new full-spread illustrations for each mission that were unlocked as an achievement, the second patch design for all Physical and Deluxe pledge tiers, as well as the tattoo design.

Writing: Small tweaks and adjustments might still happen, but the book’s content is written. Writing for our radio broadcast audio files is underway, and production on that will start soon.

Editing: Some initial developmental editing passes were completed before our BackerKit campaign started. Now, the copyediting grunt work can begin and carry on into the new year.

Graphic design and layout: Crew and mission test layouts were created ahead of the campaign. This will pick back up towards the middle of Q1 as we finalize content with editing, and turn in all illustrations.
