Project Update: February Status
Hey, everyone! We’re back, here in the tail end of a very busy Zine Month, to give you another quick update on the progress of Devil’s Due.
First, how about some exciting work-in-progress artwork from the new spreads added with the unlocked stretch goal?
This unfinished piece by the incredible Scragend will be for the Slickstar Resurrectionist mission, showing the player crew meeting with the eccentric slickware producer Amiarah Tolayo and Cassie, one of her android bodyguards, about salvaging a ghost generationship that she believes will soon reappear from hyperspace. The Pressure Cooker is one of the popular bars in Azimuth, built from scavenged plumbing, boiler rooms, and reactor parts. It provides a range of questionable drinks, gambling, and other downtime activities.
We’re working with Lur Noise, Amanda Lee Franck, Sam Wildman, and Scragend on the remaining stretch goal art spreads for each mission.
Speaking of Scragend’s art, we’re finalizing our temporary tattoo design. Passengers heading planetside on Charon’s Ferry will get this stamp laser-printed on their skin, marking them as having already paid their return fare back up the space elevator.
We’ll be picking the artist for our second patch design soon.
But that’s not all! The wonderful Joshua Justice has been hard at work recording the bonus radio broadcast MP3s that were also unlocked via stretch goals. Broadcasts mentioning each of the 10 pirate captains have been made, and we’ll begin on the scripts for the 7 mission broadcasts shortly.
As for the book itself, we expect the first editing pass to be done by the end of the month, with the second pass starting soon after. Then we can get serious about layout.
