We are anInterview with the Vampire fanzine created for fans, by fans. Last year, we released our inaugural Volume thanks to the help of over 90 backers who raised more than $4000 here on Backerkit, absolutely smashing all our initial goals and expectations. So, naturally, we are back.
Our purpose remains to bring creatives in theVampire Chronicles fan community together, collaboratively produce a book showcasing the wide range of talent in the community, and raise some funds for charity in the process. We are proud to be an open-call project: our contributors come from all skill levels, and the pieces you’ll find on our pages span all characters, ships, and ratings.
For Volume 2, we at the Théâtre des Vampires fanzine are going BIGGER. Not only are we upgrading to Royal Size, this volume also comes with more art: the main zine is 188 pages long and features 57 pieces from 52 incredible artists, spanning a wide range of mediums from illustrations and cosplay to poetry and mixed-media art. Alt-text is included in the digital version, as well as content warnings for any piece that may require them.
Here is an amuse-bouche of what you’ll find among its pages:
Main zine front and back cover art by Adélie. Inside pages art and fic, in clockwise order, by Minpage, artgroves, E. Zirahuén, DisturbedButGorgeous, Lestaesthetic, Aria Achilles Aphrodisia, Panic Volkushka and Betta.
Following the tradition from Volume 1, some of the more risqué pieces have been compiled into our companion fanzine, Encore. Everyone who may want to get the fanzine but avoid explicit content can do so without worries, and those who wish to have the full experience can bundle up.Encore is 88 pages long and features 16 pieces from 15 artists. It is only available for sale for people over 18.
Our main campaign reward is, of course, Volume 2 of the Théâtre des Vampiresfanzine and its accompanying NSFW add-on Encore. We have physical and digital copies of both available.

All rewards are also available as add-ons, in case you prefer to mix and match your ideal bundle, or are looking to acquire several copies of your favorite reward. The only exceptions are the early bird bookmark, which is exclusive to early backers, and the commemorative Thank You Postcard, which is included for free for all orders with physical rewards.
As an extra, we also have the digital version of Volume 1 of the Théâtre des Vampires fanzine available to purchase as an add-on, for anyone that missed out on last year's campaign.
Funds raised from this campaign will go towards the cost of producing physical copies of the main zine and Encore, as well as all physical merch items offered as rewards. All proceeds beyond what is needed to cover those production costs and any associated fees (Backerkit, credit cards, etc.) will be split evenly and donated to two charities, one Louisiana-based, to honor the birthplace of the series that inspired this project, and one international, to honor the global nature of the fan community around it.
For Volume 1, we were able to donate a total of $1700 to The Blood Center and Doctors Without Borders, both selected by our Volume 1 contributors. We publicly shared the receipts of those donations last year.
For Volume 2, our contributors selected NOAGE as our Louisiana-based charity and the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund as our international one.
NOAGE (New Orleans Advocates for LGBTQ+ Elders) is a non-profit organization that provides services and advocacy for LGBTQ+ older adults in the NOLA metro area.
ThePalestinian Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) is a volunteer-run non-profit organisation that provides free medical care and humanitarian aid to children in Palestine and the broader Levant region.
No contributors or mods are making any profit from this campaign.
This project is only possible due to our incredible cast and crew.
All pieces featured in Volume 2 of the Théâtre des Vampires fanzine, including the covers' art and merch designs for the rewards, were created by an incredible ensemble of artists who graciously donated their time and talent to this project. Equally valuable is the behind the scenes work of our stage crew AKA the mod team.

Thank you all for the incredible love and support for the campaign so far! We are delighted to bring Volume 2 to your hands. With the base funds secured, we are excited to now set our sights onto Stretch Goals!
Prints by CuriosityRocks, Dean Lenz and Andres de Lugdunum
Charm by Aquanym
Standee Design by MelloWammy
We hit all of our initial stretch goals before the campaign even hit the 24 hour mark! 🤯
Thanks to your incredible support, the A5 prints will now be produced as 9x6in prints, the Santiago charm will get a double-sided epoxy coat upgrade AND we get to produce the three-piece Claudia standee!
The first two upgrades automatically apply to any orders that include the prints or charm, whether as part of the Orchestra pledge tier (for the prints), the Concession Stand or Royal Box pledge tiers (for both), or as an add-on. The standee has also been added to the Concession Stand and Royal Box pledge tiers, and is now available as an add-on.
For our next batch of Stretch Goals, we are very excited to announce we will be upgrading the physical zines to hardcovers!
Front and back cover by Adélie
At $4500, the physical main zine will now be a hardcover. Instead of the original 110lb soft cover, the covers will instead be greyboard coated in art paper. And instead of glue-based PUR perfect binding, we will instead use thread-sewn binding, to ensure we still maintain quality and durability.
And for all our NSFW patrons, fear not. If we manage to hit $5000, Encore will be getting the same treatment.
Cover by Isabelle Hemlock
These upgrades would mean the physical zines would be a bit heavier than originally planned. According to our calculations, this weight increase should not affect shipping prices as long as you are only getting a single physical copy of each zine, like you would when pleading at the Royal Box tier, for example. For anyone ordering multiple copies of either zine, there is a chance shipping costs may be a bit higher than they would have been without the hardcover upgrade, though hopefully not by much.
Shipping will be charged on top of your pledge after the campaign is over. Here are our estimates for shipping costs for all Pledge Levels with physical rewards:
These numbers are estimates, as there may be some variations between now and when we are ready to ship all rewards. Please note that if you add several add-ons to your pledge, which leads to the package being significantly heavier than what a full bundle would be, the shipping costs may increase.
Every shipment will include a tracking number which will be sent to you once your package has been dispatched. Please note that we ship from the US and there may be additional tax and/or customs costs for deliveries to other countries, which are to be covered by the backer.
Late August 2025 - Funds are collected and production starts.
September 2025 - Production underway. Pre-order store for digital fanzines opens. Backers addresses are collected for shipping.
October 2025 - Rewards start to be shipped to backers.
Late October 2025 - Digital fanzines are made available.
November 2025 - Leftovers are made available for sale on our store (here on BackerKit).
Late November 2025 - Store closes. Charity donation is made and receipts are shared with backers and on our social platforms.
This timeline is based on our experience producing Volume 1 of the Théâtre des Vampires fanzine, as well as other previous projects. While delays can happen, we largely expect to be able to keep in line with these dates.
