Project Update: [PERSONAL NOTE] Hey Backers
Quick Personal Update From Chris
Hey all,
I had my first post-operation and post-BCG cystoscopy yesterday, and I’m incredibly relieved to say: there was no sign of cancer. My bladder looked healthy and completely different from what we saw back in August. It really feels like I beat this.
What Happens Next?
Bladder cancer is known for having a high recurrence rate, so the next phase is ongoing monitoring:
- Cystoscopies every 3 months for the next year
- If all is clear, every 6 months after that
- Eventually we move to annual scopes
The scopes are not fun but they are not super painful to deal with. I only have some minor discomfort when I pee for about the first 24 hours after, but then it's almost like they didn't shove a camera up my penis!
Thank you to everyone who supported me through some very hard months. Your kindness helped keep us afloat, and I’m so grateful. This will be the last update from me regarding my health.
Onward,
Chris Marshall
