Hi again Critters!

The title of this update gives away the big news I have to share…

(We technically finished packing orders over a month ago, but I promptly went into rest & recoup mode for the past few weeks!)

With that, the campaign has officially come full circle.. from the very first post I shared in 2024, to sending out the very last pre-order in 2026! In total, we shipped out 1,872 orders, with a final count of 3,122 plush. That’s such an amazing feat, especially considering this was our first campaign! I’m still in awe of the sheer amount of love, support, and understanding you’ve all shown me over the past 18 months.

Thank you for the support, the excitement, the compassion, and yes, even the critiques. You all helped me through one of the most amazing (and challenging) times of my life, and I’m so grateful that you each get to carry a little piece of that with you now. Just know that I treated every single one of your critters with the utmost care, and most importantly, so much love, before sending them out. I truly hope that’s something you can feel!

I also want to take a moment to remind you that you are capable of achieving great things too! No matter how low, hurt, or lost you may feel, there will always be a glimmer of hope, strength, and potential within you! And In my experience, some of the best ideas come when we’re at our lowest, and amazing things can grow from even the darkest places. So as a final note, I encourage you to listen to that little spark inside you, nurture it, and see where it leads you! 💛

If you loved your first Critters and want to add more to your collection (or if you missed out on the campaign) this will be your chance to pick up anything you missed! This shop opening will include everything from the campaign plus discounted B-grades.

And as a heads up, going forward we’ve made slight pricing changes! Standard-grade plush will now be $50, and B-grade plush will be $40. Some of the clothing has increased in price as well, though it varies from piece to piece.
Our shop platform also accepts Affirm, Klarna, and Afterpay, so you can place larger orders with a payment plan if needed!

At this time, we are still only shipping to North American countries. Unfortunately, collecting and remitting taxes for the UK, EU, and other countries has been difficult to set up, so we’ve decided to open an Etsy shop for the time being. Etsy isn’t my first choice as a platform, but the way it streamlines tax collection for both the seller and buyer is something we need to take advantage of for now. I’m currently expecting the Etsy shop to be up around mid-April, so you can look forward to it opening around then! 💛

Hi there Critters!

This update is for anyone who purchased clothing for their Critters, applying to both fulfilled and unfulfilled orders.

It was brought to my attention that some of our clothing can bleed or transfer dye.

After some experimentation, I can confirm that the Black Turtleneck Tee, Cozy Coffee Cardigan, and Midnight Overall Pants all bleed dye when exposed to water. In some cases, these pieces can also dry-transfer dye when rubbing against a Critter’s fur.

I’m recommending that everyone machine-wash those three dark clothing items as a safety measure! They can be washed with warm or hot water and your regular detergent, preferably on a delicate cycle. In my experiments, one wash and rinse cycle was enough to remove the loose dye particles.

The rest of our clothes are lighter colored or use sublimation dyeing techniques, so they do not bleed any color.

I loved the idea of using real textiles where I could, but I didn’t remember to factor in the risks that come with them. Black and dark-colored fabrics notoriously bleed dye, and unfortunately the Critter clothes weren’t an exception.

At this time, I’m unable to wash the clothes before shipment. I don’t want to risk exposing the clothes to pet or detergent allergens in my personal or laundromat washers!

This is something I’ll definitely keep a closer eye on in the future, and I’ll make sure to include caution and care cards with future packages and sales.

I know it’s a very busy time for campaigns with the Pintopia event having just launched, so I’ll keep this update short n’ sweet! 💛

All Plush-Only Orders were shipped on or before November 12th!

🍄 Plush & Clothing Orders & Pre-Orders — (IN PROGRESS ⏳ 80% COMPLETE)
We are currently shipping plush & clothing orders! At the time of this update, we have just 285 orders left to fulfill. This number includes both campaign backers and late pre-orders.

I estimate we will finish all orders placed during the original campaign this week! Pre-order fulfillment will be completed by mid-February.

It has been a while since we locked addresses, so if you need to change yours, please email us at [email protected] with your order information (Backerkit email and/or shipping name) as soon as possible.

Since we will be finishing fulfillment within the next few weeks, this is the official LAST CALL to complete your surveys and pay any remaining balances if you haven’t already done so. Any backers who have not completed these actions by February 20th will have their pledges canceled and refunded (if applicable).

Again, thank you all so much for the incredible amount of patience and understanding you’ve shown throughout fulfillment! Estimating the fulfillment timeline has truly been the hardest part of this campaign, and there have been many misjudgments made and delays experienced along the way.

I’ll admit I feel disappointed and embarrassed by the situation, but all I can do is move forward and treat it as a lesson learned for next time!

Hi there, Critters!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful holiday season!

I just wanted to pop in with a quick fulfillment update for you all 💛

We mentioned this over in our Discord server, but we made the decision not to ship packages between December 17th and December 27th. Orders were still being packed during this time, but we held off on dropping them off at the post office to help reduce the risk of lost or damaged packages during the holiday rush, and to avoid deliveries arriving while folks were away from home. Now that the 27th has passed, all packages that were packed during this window will be dropped off at the post office next Monday, the 29th! Tracking information for those orders will be sent shortly, so if your tracking hasn’t updated yet, please know your package is safe in our hands until then.

On a similar note, we’ve been working hard to keep things moving as quickly as possible and have fewer than 600 orders remaining! We started out with nearly 1,900 orders, so we’ve made a lot of progress, and we’re still aiming to wrap up fulfillment by the end of January.

If your plush-only order hasn’t shipped yet, it’s likely because your order was locked or paid late and was placed into our Plush & Clothing Order queue instead.

🍄 Plush & Clothing Orders — (IN PROGRESS ⏳ 40% COMPLETE)
We are currently shipping Plush & Clothing Orders! At the time of this update, we still have about 800 orders left to fulfill, and we’re working diligently to get everything shipped as soon as possible.

We did take a week off from packing due to a recent bout of illness in our household, so our timeline has shifted a bit. We now expect to continue shipping orders until mid-January. I know this may be disappointing to hear, but we’re working as quickly as we can, and your patience truly means the world to us.

Many of our recent help requests have come from pre-order backers, so I wanted to include an update specifically for you guys! Campaign backers are often familiar with the bumps and delays that projects like this can come with, but many of our pre-order backers joined later in the game and may not have expected the same possibilities.

When we opened pre-orders, we genuinely believed we would have everything completed by October. Clearly, that hasn’t happened, and we’re still fulfilling orders now. I know this has been confusing and frustrating for some of you, and all I can offer is my sincerest apologies. This is our first campaign and our first time taking pre-orders in this format, and there have been mistakes and miscommunications along the way.

To offer more clarity, we are packing orders chronologically, beginning with orders placed during the original campaign. After those are fulfilled, we will begin shipping pre-orders. Because of this, pre-orders will be fulfilled toward the beginning of January.

Again, I am so sorry for the delays, but I hope this information provides a bit more peace of mind moving forward.

While we are fulfilling orders in chronological order, orders containing 4 or more plush have been set aside for now and will be completed after orders containing 1–3 plush, but before pre-orders are fulfilled.

This choice was made because larger orders take significantly longer to pack and we want to tackle our overall volume as efficiently as possible. If your order includes 4 or more plush, it will likely be fulfilled toward the end of December.

We recently emailed all Canadian backers to offer the option of shipping your order during the Canada Post postal strike. This email may have ended up in your spam folder, so please check the email associated with your Backerkit account if you’d like us to ship your order as soon as possible! 

It has been a while since we locked addresses, so if you need to change yours, please email us at [email protected] with your order information (Backerkit email and/or shipping name) as soon as possible. As long as your order hasn’t shipped, we can update your address!

If you won’t be home for the holidays and would like us to hold your package, please email us with your order information and the dates you’d like your order held. Alternatively, since we ship everything through USPS, now is a great time to contact your local post office and put a temporary mail hold in place if necessary! 
We can't control or be responsible for stolen packages, so please reach out to us or your post office to help keep your order safe while you’re away.

I know updates that push timelines back are never fun to read, so I wanted to end this by re-expressing my thanks and gratitude for all of the support, understanding, and patience you all have shown thus far! 

And for the sake of honesty and accountability: I hold myself to a really high standard, and sometimes that gets in the way of setting realistic expectations. I often think I can do more than I actually can and try to push myself into a level of performance that isn’t sustainable, which has caused some issues along the way. I really should have padded our shipping timeline more from the start, but I kept it tight in the hopes it would push me to magically work faster. I think a lot of us have made that mistake at one point or another, and I hope you can understand that my mistakes came from a place of wanting to do my best!
