Project Update: US Domestic Shipping – Media Mail & Ground Advantage Upgrades
Hi to backers in the USA –
While most packages in the USA will ship via USPS Media Mail, we know that a few backers live in delivery regions where Media Mail deliveries are sometimes delayed. After some collaborative trouble-shooting with backers on our Discord server, we've come up with a plan.
We're offering free upgrades from USPS Media Mail to USPS Ground Advantage for anyone who needs it. This will typically be backers in rural and remote locations, or in locations where significant inclement weather is likely. Backers in cities and central locations should receive Media Mail packages within 2-5 days of shipping, the first wave of which we've scheduled to push to the warehouse on Tuesday.
Also note that we are upgrading all packages bound to Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories to Ground Advantage. If you live in those areas, no action is necessary, we're taking care of the upgrade for you.
As the cost of upgrading packages to Ground Advantage will exceed what we charged for shipping and handling, we ask that only people who really need it take advantage of our free upgrade. It would cost us up to $25,000 to upgrade everyone.
Please note that we are purchasing insurance for all packages and that all packages will have tracking; Ground Advantage just has more detailed tracking.
To upgrade your shipping for free, please fill out this form by the morning of Tuesday, November 11th.
If you are a domestic backer and cannot receive USPS packages at your address, please send an email to [email protected] right away and we'll handle your package separately.
