Project Update: Hyrax game update/refunds
Hello!
We have some bad news and some good news.
This 2024 campaign blew away all expectations, and after our last update we didn't think we'd have to revisit it as the last order of business was the Hyrax digital game stretch goal that we'd be updating people on over at its Steam store page.
We wanted a true vintage puzzle-game experience that would hold up past being a tie-in gimmick for the web-series, and despite weeks and months of research, writing, charting, asset production, and planning, we've decided it is outside of our current scope. The building blocks of the game work, but we haven't been able to meet the level of entertainment and quality of storytelling that we feel your investment deserves.
But, THE GOOD NEWS, EVERYBODY who got the Hyrax game add-on will get the full cost of the game refunded. In fact, the refunds should have gone out through your original payment method a could weeks ago! If we do revisit the game and make it meet the expectations we've set out to accomplish, we'll announce that on the Steam page where it will be waiting for you.
Thank you for your support in the other areas of the campaign and towards our animated content! We have a lot more in store on that front and have already learned since this campaign to be more mindful of what we try to offer people vs. what we have actual experience in achieving (see the 2025 campaign's stretch goals being decidedly more within our wheelhouse).
