I am grateful beyond comprehension, truly I cannot convey properly have deep the gratitude I have is for everyone. I never imagined we'd reach the initial goal this fast. I was frankly terrified making the goal $5k and unlocking both Taohua and Macaron in one go, because I was worried that maybe it'd not be possible.
But not only was it possible, it happened in the first few hours of launch, and I genuinely can't believe it nor can I thank you all enough for this. Just, with my entire heart soul and being: thank you, truly and with all my love 🩷
I have added a 3 plushie bundle tier for the regular plush bundle and the bundle with the small ticket goodies included (the care packages)!! If you want to help us hopefully reach our next Fruit Friend goal stop, Muffin the fennec fox, feel free to change your pledge to the 3 plushie bundle/care package if you'll happen to want all three.

We asked him to tell us some stories about working on D&D at WotC. Of course he has one related to aerial gaming. It's during the 4E era but we won't fault him too much for that (har har)...

Story Time with Chris: Temple of the Sky God

Starting with the 1981 Moldvay “Blue Box” and shortly thereafter transitioning to AD&D (1E), I’ve played nearly every edition of this glorious game over the course of 4+ decades of fandom. While I’ve enjoyed some versions more than others, 5E is, in my humble opinion, the best version of the game. All of that said, my first experience with mounted aerial combat occurred during an in-house playthrough (at Wizards of the Coast) of the 4E Lair Assault: Temple of the Sky God.
Setting aside the fact that 4E is far from my favorite edition of D&D, this play experience opened my imagination to the concept of tactical play in three dimensions, and specifically in the context of a tabletop rpg. It’s safe to say that not every player (or even the GM) was accustomed to visualizing their game with that level of complexity, which in large part contributed to my character’s success in the course of the scenario. Even when the map flipped and the challenge level skyrocketed, I could use the aerial terrain (mostly floating rocks and such) to my advantage. and the level of immersion I experienced was altogether unprecedented, and thoroughly awesome.
So… here I am… 15 years older and chasing the dream that you can have the same amount (or more) fun with this style of play as I plan to. I would encourage all y’all to not miss out on this glorious opportunity to get everything you need to play your game in three dimensions, and who knows? Perhaps, sometime, I’ll see you in the sky!

omg, I truly cannot BELIEVE the project is LAUNCHING TOMORROW?! Where did the time go?! I've been working on setting up this campaign for months and the debut of the Fruit Friends is finally on its way tomorrow!!?? What the heck...
I'm also being so chill and normal and relaxed about it too, like I'm totally not even a LITTLE nervous (yet super pumped and excited as well)!!!! :3

Lastly, I have updated Muffin's design ever so slightly so she resembles a fennec fox a little more closely~

Her nose and mouth muzzle will also stick out more due to how a fennec fox's snout actually looks in real life, so she will appear more fox-like all around.
Another small Muffin sidenote: I also already secured the sample for our fox friend Muffin as well, so prototype pictures will be shared really soon! I can't wait to finally share Muffin's sample, since I know everyone's pretty excited for her too ~!

It's genuinely hard to describe just the sheer amount of gratitude I have for being given the opportunity to host another plush campaign due to your continued (or new/recent which is super awesome too and I'm so grateful!!) support of my designs and work. We hit our funding goal recently (and are dangerously close to achieving the "stickers for everyone" goal, too!) Thanks so much for the support.
This week I'm trying to jam out a short mechanics demo framed as a separate storyline centered on a separate (non-Captain) character. This way we can limit the scope (for example: managing a single lead character with a single companion, instead of an entire crew,) while showcasing the gameplay loop, and dipping your toes into the world without spoiling any of the guidebook. Should be pretty dope.
The Final Livestream
Our very last livestream will take place this Friday at 10am PST/1pm EST. You'll be able to watch it directly from the BackerKit page, or from my YouTube channel. I'll post another update once we're a bit closer to the day.
We are in the FINAL DAYS of the Mystery Snacks campaign!
And we're $6 from a stretch goal!
The number has booped up and down around this goal over the past couple days as backers come and go, which means that joining now or reserving an add-on for your existing pledge can have a big impact on the project and make sure that this stretch goal is securely funded.
If we reach this goal, we'll also see if we're able to do a final push to hit stretch goal #5 and bring Cezar Capacle (who is also running a Backerkit campaign, Triple-O) to the Mystery Snacks team too!

It was close, but ultimately, mischief won out! When I make my collab 1-pager, it will be focusing on our goblins finding funky ingredients and trying to mess with the humans.
Speaking of cooking up trouble, I want to highlight one of the big tiers for the campaign....
Cook up a mystery with me!
If someone backs this tier, it will add a whole new mystery to the zine FOR EVERYONE, and I'll meet with that person to discuss what it is they want the mystery to be about!
If you have an idea for a caper but aren't sure how to make it happen, want to make your mark on the project in a big way, or think it would be cool to chat and brainstorm ideas, make sure to check this out before the campaign ends! This tier will not be available as part of the pre-launch shop, so now is your only chance to (cook)book it!
With that, I'm planning on having updates for you tomorrow and Friday as we run the final sprint, and thank you for all the support in this project so far! I cannot wait to make an awesome game for you all!

A brief reprieve between storms in my area means it's time to dig deeper into the World Below with the next section from the Delver's Guide draft manuscript. We're going to get more options for our characters, as well as some new tools to add to help our chances for survival in the great test that is The World Below.
First up, though, let's celebrate!

ACHIEVED! - At $10,000 in Funding - THE ADVENT OF THE SILT
THE ADVENT OF THE SILT - The team will create a West Marches-style adventure for The World Below, focused on exploration and cave delving. A PDF version of The Advent of Silt will be added as a bonus reward to all backers receiving either the Delver's Guide PDF or the Secrets of Kalm and Kaos PDF as part of their pledge rewards.
We'll get back to the Advent of the Silt adventure and hopefully expand it before the end, but let's set up our next two Stretch Goals. These may be pretty familiar to frequent Onyx Path supporters. A couple of milestone markers to help us keep our pace and celebrate as we move forward with the project.

Draft Manuscript Previews
Over the course of this campaign, backers will receive the entire current draft manuscript for The World Below: Delver's Guide and The World Below: Secrets of Kalm and Kaos, but it's not going to come to you all in one go. The previews will come out in mangeable sections throughout the campaign. This helps me seem interesting over these 30 days, but it's more about guiding the conversation and helping steer feedback for the developers.
Because they want your feedback! These manuscript previews are of the current draft manuscript – the document in its latest, approved form. This may not be the final form after editing and any additional development, but you can consider it about 95% finished, so keep that in mind.
