The preorder store is for folks who did not back the campaign and would still like to preorder the items. The freebie postcard is not included in preorders, but the prices are still the campaign prices. The estimated shipping for preorders is April 2025. For folks who did back the campaign: Surveys are coming soon! I have the surveys all created, but Backerkit is currently reviewing my work to double check everything is all good. Once they are approved, I will send a smoke test of the surveys, meaning to just a small, random group of backers. After that, all the surveys can go out! I still estimate the surveys to go out by the end of this weekend, but will once again update y'all when they're out.

Everyone will get charged for their pledges within the next 24 hours now that the campaign has ended.
If your payment gets declined for whatever reason, BackerKit will keep retrying your pledge payment over the next couple of weeks, so please keep an eye out so that you don't miss out on your rewards and any goodies that comes with it!
It takes roughly 2 weeks for everything to be fully processed on our end, so we estimate to send out the surveys starting around November 18th! We'll make an update accordingly once we've sent out the smoke tests first, and then follow it up with the remaining surveys! Right now, it's basically just a waiting game until everything has been processed properly by BackerKit! 🥰
There will also be a pre-order period for people who missed out on the project but still wanted to get something, which will be done directly via BackerKit!

The survey will give you all the options! For example, if you pledged for one plushie, you'll be shown all 4 available options and select whichever one you'd like. It's very easy and will include visuals for ease! Otherwise, you're free to contact us if you need any help. 😊
🐄 Can I add more items to my pledge when I'm filling out the survey?
Yes, you can!
You're free to add however many items you'd like to your initial pledge. Everything is unlocked, so all items are available for you to choose!
🐄 When will we get charged for shipping costs?
You can pay for the final shipping costs once you've been sent the survey!
🐄 Will these products become available in your shop?
Yes, they will eventually become available in our shop once we've fulfilled and shipped out all pledges!
🐄 When will the first plushie prototypes be shown for Moocha Latte & Sailor Moo?
Depending on how fast things get fully processed by the payment processing platforms and we get the funds, we estimate the first plushie prototypes for these two characters to be around mid to late December.
This can fluctuate depending on our manufacturer, but based on our previous experiences with them for Cherry and Cotton, we consider this a good estimation!

What's next? In the 24 hours after the campaign ends, Backerkit will charge payment methods for pledge totals. If payment does not go through for whatever reason, Backerkit will automatically retry over the next couple weeks. It takes about 2 weeks for everything to go through on my end - and all this needs to happen before surveys can be sent - so I estimate surveys (to select pin/lanyards designs, add things, pay for shipping) will go out the week of November 11th. I also hope I will have the Latt-ray sample before then!

As we near the end of the 'Day n Night' plushie project, I wanted to answer some questions I've been asked about many times! Please read thru it 🩷 If your question was not addressed below already, feel free to reply/comment on this post with any questions you have! 💭

Q: When will Swirly's sample be done? A: I'll share the detailed construction soon and get feedback here for the process! However because of a mishap with my Apple Pencil during the campaign, the blue-print construction process for Swirly was slightly delayed. I'm working hard on her now, but I am deeply sorry for the delay with her sample due to my old Apple Pencil breaking. I have since gotten my replacement stylus though so she's finally back in the works!
Q: Will the plushies from the project be available via your shop for preorder? A: Only SOME of the UNLOCKED plushies will be available for preorder on my shop after the campaign is over (specifically Yue will most likely not be available afterwards and if he is, it'll be extremely limited like, 10 or less extras kind of limited). I'm not entirely sure of the quantities yet of the others, but they will be very limited too! If you have your heart set on a certain plush I'd recommend getting them through the campaign to guaranteed, secure yours.
Q: How much will the plushies be on your shop? A: They will rise in price via my shop to $45 + shipping instead of $42 + shipping.
Q: Will we be able to add extra plushies to our pledge after the campaign ends via Backerkit surveys/add-ons? A: Yes! Backers of the project will have the ability to add extra plush friends to their pledges/orders afterwards as add-ons! In this case the plushies for existing backers' add-ons will remain $42.
Q: If we don't unlock Valentine the large, pink floppy cat through this current 'Day n Night' plush campaign, would you consider bringing them back in the future for a separate Backerkit project/campaign? A: While I don't plan to bring all locked plushies back for possible future projects, I do plan to bring Valentine the cat specifically (the big pink floppy cat plush) back in the future for their own dedicated separate campaign, with maybe some extra floppy similarly-styled stretch goal friends, if we don't unlock them in time for this current project. Stuffing and the mini plushies will not be making a comeback if we don't unlock them during this project.
Q: When do we pay for shipping costs? A: You will get an address survey and subsequently pay for shipping costs around when the plushies are almost ready to ship out, after the campaign ends.
Q: When are we going to be charged for our pledges? A: Right after the campaign ENDS (ends October 29th) you will be promptly charged for your pledge.

We have just over a week left of the campaign, and thanks to all of you, all of our stretch goals have been unlocked, hooray! In review, all of the original bags/pouches, pins, the 2 lanyards, sticker sheet, and magnet have been unlocked. We also unlocked the free Breb wrist lanyard for all Brebs and the Latt-ray bag! These bags can be added as add-ons to pledges, and the sample will be coming soon (though, as I have mentioned before, I don't think the sample will be completed before the campaign ends).
I didn't have too much else planned for the campaign because if there are additional funds, I am hoping to invest those to make cute touches to the packaging! So what's next? Over the next week, I will be sharing more posts on social media showing the creatures. Reminder that the campaign ends on October 22nd and that funds from the pledges will be collected by Backerkit at that time.

Thank you all so much for voting in the poll for the type of bag we will have for Latt-Ray! The plush crossbody bag won with 53% of the votes! So today, I am sharing the design for the bag that I am working on getting the sample for - she will be the same soft plush material as the other plush in the campaign. We are currently less than $400 away from unlocking this new back (yay!!) so I have gone ahead and made her available as an add-on for any current or future backers of other pledge tiers. Once we unlock her, I will add the bag as a tier on its own. (Note that this bag can be added onto the souvenir tier, but does not come with that tier automatically.)

I'm coming to you today with a new stretch goal for a new bag, but I need your help deciding which form our Latt-Ray should take!! We passed our first stretch goal of the freebie Breb wrist lanyard with all Breb pledges/add-ons (YAY), so we get to decide on the final new item of the campaign.
Over the next couple days, we just need to decide which *kind* of bag our friend will become. Please note that due to my manufacturer being on holiday right now and them being quite busy when they return, it is unlikeable we will have a sample ready during the campaign. But after we decide which types of bags and if we reach our funding goal, I will share with you the designs and add them to the campaign to add onto your pledges :D

I showed a video of our newest Nessie prototype on Discord, but it's difficult to upload gifs and videos here. That said, here is some pictures!
As you can see, they determined they could do the pleated neck fin after all. It's a little too long, but I think otherwise it is going to look great!
I had also asked for a shiny embroidery fabric for the spots, but I didn't realize the embroidery would be so blue! It is pretty, but I'm not sure about it and I know no matter what I decide, there will be those of you who prefer the spots blue, and others who prefer them to be white. So, I'm a little nervous to even open that can of worms haha. I told them to make it white again, since it matches all of the art I've done already.
She still isn't nearly as floppy as I was hoping so I spoke to a SUPER talented plushie artist -- Makeshiftwings-- who... if you aren't following you totally should be! They have a Patreon and everything geared around learning to sew dolls and make their own patterns!
She was SUPER kind and gave me some advice, and with it, I think we will be getting a much floppier version of Nessie soon!
Here are some of the conclusions I came to with her help! I'm hopeful, anyway! I honestly was feeling lost and defeated, so I'm super grateful to have such professional input.
Still no news on Gertie, but I know it's gotta be soon! They finished up with Lupin and Batty, so I'll be getting them soon! Expect a bunch of mischievous and fun photos when I do! They look so silly and up to no good! I just know they're going to be even cuter in person. I cannot wait to make some silly videos with them 'em.
FUNDS HAVE HIT TOO!! So, I will be paying for all the prototypes very soon! I've been really busy with some family stuff and appointments this week, but it's all winding down now so I'll have time to work on those final references and get quotes and get them paid by Monday.
That also means surveys are going out soon! I'm aiming for this weekend! We're waiting for Backerkit to approve 'em so... yeah. We're getting there!! I think they'll get back to us tomorrow.

So sorry for missing yesterday’s update! I wasn’t feeling too well and needed the day to rest. But I have lots of goodies to share with you today!
All samples have been paid for and are in progress with my manufacturer! The designers are really getting the hang of my vision for Critterfolk, so I’m hopeful that all samples will be completed by December 15th.
🌱 Now onto some Prototype WIPs!

First up is Juniper! Their face looks SO much better in this sample, and I’m really happy with their look now! We only have one last edit, which is adding back their ear fluff! It will be stylized and appliquéd like Willow’s ear fluff. Once that’s done, I think Juniper will be complete!

Next is Willow! Her fur colors are PERFECT now! I’m so glad I was able to keep her browns a warmer tone and not have to resort to gray. The only tweak left is to make the blue of her eyes a little lighter. After that, she’ll be finished!

And finally, we have Briar, who is now complete! 🎉 Briar is looking perfect! Please note, their dark fur is tricky to photograph accurately, so I’ll share better, true-to-life photos once I have them. Briar has been the plush to receive the most mixed feedback, so please be kind in your replies! They are just as I envision them, so I'm happy with how they look :')
We're very close to finishing all the plushie samples! We’re just waiting on Cinder’s first prototype, and the other plushies are either done or getting final touches. Clothing prototypes start this week, so I’ll have more updates on those soon! 🌱 Survey Update Thank you all for waiting so patiently for the surveys! Backerkit recommends creators hold off for at least 14 days after a campaign ends before sending out surveys, so I’ve been following that recommendation.
Otherwise everything is all set up and ready — I’m just waiting for the final all-clear from Backerkit to launch surveys! Since I prefer not to send surveys over the weekend, they’ll go out next week instead! I’ll post an update when the “smoke test” has been sent (this test goes to 5% of backers to gather feedback and make any needed changes to the survey) and again when the survey opens up for everyone.

Foxfire Pins on Surveys
Some of you qualified for TWO pins on the surveys. (Combined pledges of around $150 between both campaign were to receive both pins.) But there was only one question!? This was a mistake and we have gone through and manually added your extra pin OR made a note if you have not touched your survey. You can choose a pin (yay! selecting options!) and then we will manually add the second one.
If you already purchased an extra Foxfire even though you qualified for 2, I manually edited your survey so you get the 2nd one free. Please don't panic if you see a change notification from Backerkit!
Note, some people had failed pledges between campaigns. Please check your pledge to make sure if went through so you can qualify!
When do I pay for shipping? T_T
You can hold off on paying for shipping if you need to. You can fill out the survey, save your answers and wait to put in your card info. Please do not wait forever though; this campaign's surveys will remain open until November 1, 2025. If you have not paid for shipping by that point, your pledge will be considered as a donation to the campaign. We can't hold things forever unfortunately. Thank you for understanding. Locking Orders and Charging Shipping
If your order contains a dragon plush, fish plush and some pins and nothing else, we will lock and charge shipping starting November 15.
If your order contains jackal plush or bronze horizon pin (and no maned wolves), your order will be locked and charged Dec. 1st. Your order will then ship as soon as Jackal arrives.
If your order contains a maned wolf, then you have a wait ahead of you. We won't lock or charge shipping until January 2025 at the earliest. We will make an announcement before doing so. We are very sorry she will skip the holidays!

This is my first check-in since the campaign ended! I took the weekend to celebrate and am back now with a good update!
First, I just want to thank you all so much for the support you showed during the campaign. Critterfolk received way more love than I ever imagined, and I’m so grateful for every bit of it. Since you’ve shared so much with me, I want to return the gesture and share a little about myself and this project with you.

My name’s Marlow, the creator behind Critterfolk. Long before Critterfolk , I was a full-time commission artist known as Critter Valley. I spent my days drawing other people’s characters and making works of art for them! It was honestly a dream job, and I absolutely loved doing it for many years, but eventually things started to shift.
Somewhere along the way, drawing got harder to enjoy, to feel inspired, to feel purposeful. I’ve always loved creating, but over time I’d gone from creating for myself to creating solely for others. I pushed myself hard to grow and I did what I’d learned to do to survive. I hosted raffles to boost engagement, tried to say the “right” things in posts, created ads, followed trends, and worked long hours. If something didn’t perform well, I took it really personally. I was extremely self-critical and self-depreciative. Repeatedly, I ended up burned out and battling recurring depressive episodes. Being so involved with how my art was perceived online took everything out of me.
After months of contemplation, I decided I had to step away. And while I’d been through plenty of woes, this really was one of the darkest points in my life. I hit the bottom and let me tell you, that well went so deep. My art and career had become so tied to my identity that, without it, I felt completely lost. I realized I didn’t have other hobbies or interests, barely any friends, and no idea what to do next. I felt heartbroken and truly grieved for myself. Leaving was soul-crushing, but I wanted better for myself. And in truth, I got worse before I got better. I spent over six months in a deep depression. I was jobless, lacking any motivation, and full of self-loathing during that time. Looking back, I needed time to be sad, hurt, and broken.
I did my best to focus on rebuilding my sense of self. Slowly, I learned how to not push through everything so hard and learned to slow down. Eventually I started a new job, one where I learned so much. I started at a small (but big!) online shop as a fulfillment and shipping assistant. I learned how to pick and pack orders, process preorders (over 10,000 orders and 2,500 preorders!), and later moved into a purchasing role. It was scary at first, but it taught me confidence, and I stopped being so afraid. I stopped being afraid of failing, of losing, and so many things other things that held me back. Would you believe me if I told you I was too afraid to make simple, animal inspired products because I thought "that's been done too many times already"?
Little by little, I started creating again, and somewhere along the way, the Critterfolk were created. At first, I kept them close, sharing them only with my inner circle. I didn’t want anyone’s feedback or expectations to shape them for me. Once I finally felt grounded in their concept, I shared Critterfolk with you all for the first time this summer — and here we are, at the end of this wildly successful campaign! 🎉
I’m sharing this story because I know some of you might be in a place like I was.
It’s amazing to look back now and see how that hard decision led to the extreme happiness, gratitude, and sense of fulfillment that I feel today. Had I not stopped, I would have never gotten here. Letting go let me show up for myself, tackle big fears that one froze me, and find myself again.
If there’s one thing I hope you take from this, it’s this: healing takes time. It might get harder before it gets easier. It can feel like setting a broken bone — painful at first, but necessary to heal. Also, you may never feel “ready,” but you’ll know when it’s time.
🍄 Lastly, I want to thank everyone who has been there for me. Thank you to my partner Arin for supporting me these last two years. By handling finances when I was down, to always trying to encourage me and lift me up, you have been just as much a part of my growth as I. Thank you to my friends, who’ve shown me unconditional love and given me the best support, feedback, and advice. Thank you to my online community, who saw Critterfolk’s potential even before I did and pushed me to launch this plush line. And of course, thank you to every one of you here now. 🌱 Now onto some Prototype WIPs!
First, here's a peek at Rowan and Honey's prototypes!
As a reminder, the first samples are rarely perfect, so they might look a little silly right now. No worries, though! We’ll make improvements and get them looking just right before they’re finalized! I have not edited these images yet.
Rowan is looking so cute already! His cheeks and tail look so perfectly fluffy and squishable. We still need to tweak his colors and face, but overall he is looking really great!
Honey is almost perfect! While the pink fur makes her look like a cute cotton candy bunny, it just doesn’t quite fit the natural aesthetic. (Sorry to everyone rooting for her to stay pink! 💔) She’ll be a soft cream color instead.
But honestly, I’m so happy with her shape and pattern — it’s looking great! My manufacturer is really getting the feel for Critterfolk’s style, so I’m hopeful we’ll see even faster progress on samples from here!

The lighting in these photos isn’t the best, but I couldn’t wait to share! Despite that, the colors are looking amazing, and the fit seems pretty good too. I might ask to try out a different fabric but overall I’m really happy with this first look at the clothes!

By end of day Saturday, I plan for the preorder store (for folks who didn't back the campaign) to be open and surveys (for backers) to go out! I'm sorry this took me so long, but... I finally got the Discord together! It's probably not perfect. I set up the bones myself, and Evan helped me with some of the more confusing bits, but... I think it'll work!

Hi friends! It's been a minute so wanted to update you on production. Baby Berry, Cherry, and Mochi will be finished by Nov 16th. (estimate). I will have them shipped to me immediately, which means those 3 should be in my hands hopefully by the very beginning of January!
Cinnabunny, Cherry, Lilac, Jellybean, Dango, Licorice, Pascal, and the extra aprons & bandanas are scheduled to be finished on Nov 29th. I will have those shipped to me seperate (Just so I can get the ball rolling on the first few!) And I will hopefully have those by mid January. As soon as I have some bulk photos from my manufacturer I will share them with you guys!
That sets fulfillment to begin in January, and go until the end of February! Please know that delays can happen, especially when shipping is occuring over the holidays. But I'm hopeful we'll be right on track, if not a little earlier!!
