The money from the crowdfunding campaign has arrived, so it's time for another update with everything you need to know about getting your zines and PDFs!
🐱 Status of the game
In the past two weeks, the translation of Catcrawl was with Marx Shepherd, our proofreader. I've also set up the PDF with screenreader tags, image descriptions, clickable links, and internal references so it's comfortable to use for as many people as possible. After getting the file back from Marx, I've made all necessary corrections and finalized everything. In other words: Catcrawl in English is ready to print!
The German version with the print error (see previous update) is currently being reprinted and should arrive here within the next week or so.
🐾 Backerkit pledge manager is open!
Now it's your turn! I've set up the pledge manager on Backerkit so you can choose additional add-ons (if you like), pay your shipping fees, and give me your shipping address!
I've just sent out the Backerkit survey to a small portion of backers to make sure everything works as intended. The rest of you should get your survey link within the next 24 hours.
The pledge manager will only stay open until Monday, March 17th, so please make sure to fill in your survey as soon as possible so you can get your zines and PDFs. You won't be able to add any other items to your order after that date, but you'll still be able to change your shipping address until I actually start the shipping process in April (you'll get another update from me then).
I'll charge your credit cards (for shipping costs and newly-booked add-ons) through Backerkit right after locking your orders.

I've also set up a pre-order store for everyone who has missed the crowdfunding campaign and still wants to get their hands on a printed copy of Catcrawl. Please share the link around!
The pre-order store will only remain open until I lock the orders for the crowdfunding backers - that is, about a week from now.
🐱 Digital fulfillment through Itch.io
Once orders are locked, you'll receive your Itch.io download keys for your digital files shortly afterwards. They will be sent to you through Backerkit. You will need an Itch.io account to claim your PDF copy.
At the same time, the community copies that were donated by all of you will go up on Itch when the game becomes available for everyone.
🐾 Printing and shipping physical zines
I will send the Catcrawl files off to the printer's next week, right after I lock orders. I expect to receive the printed zines 2-3 weeks later. I will then pack and ship everything myself, since that gets all of you the best deal in terms of both time and money.
I expect to have everything shipped out by mid-to-late April. I will send another update then.
What about tariffs for shipments to the U.S.? You may have heard that Trump has threatened to also hit Europe with a bunch of tariffs for imports into the U.S. soon. Right now, no one knows if these tariffs are coming, and if so, when or how high they will be. Based on the available information, here's what I currently know: Packages with relatively low monetary value (like the ones from this campaign) will most likely NOT be affected by any tariffs Trump may introduce for imports of EU-made products. Yay! But I'm a very cautious cat in matters like these, so I still recommend that U.S. backers brace themselves for additional fees upon arrival of your zines, just in case.

It looks great! I love the material and printing quality, colours look great! There are some small things I'm addressing to the printing company now, for exmaple a thicker cover. Zine turned out to be much more pages than we initially planned and I'm taking another day to think if I want to add snother spread to it 👀
✨Let's choose a foil for the cover!
I ordered 4 types of foil for the cover to see which one fits better. There is a poll (attached to this post) so you can vote which one you prefer! I'm more leaning towards the iridiscent one, because it fits the arcane theme and I just like it :p
💣Jinx plushie update
We've finally figured the correct colour for the hair! (there was some mess with orders because a company we ordered from provided wrong colours that looked different in reality :/ But it's all over now, we've got the perfect colour for the toy, yay!) The fabrics is working on her second outfit now (the hooded one). We're figuring way to secure the hood on her neck now, trying a button or velcro). I addressed more feedback to the last iteration: - I think her eyes are a bit dull and need some sparkles - strands are gonna be moved to the right - she lacks some hair on top :D - arms need to be longer
this hair is wrong colour, but next iteration will finally be the right one!
🚚Shipping dates
I'm ordering mass production of the Zine on 14th of May and the production takes 5-7 days. I will be shipping all orders around 25th of May.
‼️Those who ordered plushies will get their plushies separately, because plushies production takes much much longer time! But everyone will get their Zine shipped together with stickers/posters/cards❤️

I can’t believe it’s already the end of April. This will be a short update. Jordan has been playtesting and revising the middle section of the module. Our editorial meeting had all of us agreeing that some big revisions needed to happen to this section to make it work as well as the rest of the book. Greenspore is concurrently working on copy and line editing of the more finalized sections, they’re working on honing the language to make it a little tighter and a little more terse. Amanda is working on some full spread illustrations for us, and then we’ll start to work with her on spot art. We are totally on track to start layout this summer. I’m going to leave you with one more illustration from Bride of STAR Station.

Despite the sunglasses, the creatures living in our hair, and a steady diet of Synak Bio-puffs, it's looking like our initial goal of shipping in May is going to have to be pushed back.
The drawings are approaching completion, the writing is building up momentum, but has a ways to go, and we have not yet begun layout. We're now hoping to ship in June.
We thought that we were built different, and that we could be the rare crowdfunding project that ships on time. But alas, we are, as always, more like the other girls than we like to admit.
That's it! I've finished all the pages (including the cover). Here's a preview of the Zine. Secret pages are censored 🥰 It turned out even more than 40 pages in the end.
🌞 Next step - a sample
I've ordered a sample now with 4 variants of foiling on the cover. When I get the samples, I'll choose one that fits best and we'll start mass production. According to the factory, mass production takes around 10 days.
There's only the last card left to be designed. Also, just a reminder, the cards will be double-sided with a different print on each side. These are not 2 separate designs 😙Just in case, because some people got cofused!

Not a whole lot to update you on for this month as, expectedly, I've been working heavily on the beast of a book that is Devil's Due, and unexpectedly, I've been dealing with the uncertainty of whether the industry I work in is going to collapse due to government tariffs and the stress of whether friends and loved ones will have their visas and green cards revoked without cause. I'm sure most of you understand.
My partner and I have also both been sick for this past week, which slowed things to a halt for a bit. But I'm on the mend and making good progress through the Devil's Due editing. So, I'll be able to get back to the layout work on Fear of a Daily Planet soon.
The next month will probably be full of fixing lots of little issues like this: When you're adding 40+ distressed paper textures to a book as backgrounds, you get plenty of small things to fix, like blemish marks randomly obscuring the text in front of it.
I know it doesn't say "Runk Closets," but I read it that way every time!
A simple fix, but a tedious one to do over and over and over...
In response to my last update and my polling of other Mothership wardens, there's definitely a strong preference for the "inked" version of the location maps. As a result, I'll be moving forward with that style to ensure as much clarity as possible.

We have updates on things! 1. Hodag is like 80% done the art for the zine. 2. I am like...99% done the writing for the zine. 3. Once we get the art for the game map and poster, we can actually begin working on PRINTING content for the zine!

Hello, friends! I've been working on the exclusive pages that won't be posted anywhere and finalising the pages overall, putting them together into a complete design. It takes a while and I'm doing my best to work on them everyday as hard as I can but I also try not to overwork myself. I hope to finish the complete design around 20th of April 🌞

💣Jinx plushie update
We've had 1 more iteration of the toy and I addressed some feedback. Main points: - We made hair lenght even longer and I think now it's good length - hair colour is still temporary. Hair should also be added on top of her head, too - middle hair strand lenght - some fixes to her face (eyebrows, eyes, etc) - we're tackling some issues with the clothing at the moment. We're trying another option now where shoes are printed and all other clothes is detachable. In this variant on the photos it's the opposite.
We're keep working on her and I will make sure she looks as amazing as possible
